Requested Freight Claim Documents

The following are some common documents requested by carriers during the claim process. You may or may not need to provide all or any of these documents, depending on the carrier. Please follow the specific claim instructions of your carrier.

Copy of Delivery Receipt

Copy of Bill of Lading

Copy of freight shipping invoice

Copy of original invoice for the merchandise
shipped indicating the full price paid.

Copy of inspection report (if you had one done) and any pictures if available.

Copy of repair invoices, if goods were repaired
   

During investigation of your claim, the carrier may order an inspection of your damaged goods or request additional documents to establish the measure of damages. You will be notified in writing, within 30 days, regarding your claims status and if any further documentation, not earlier requested, will be needed.
